Description of Awesome Alamo: After months of searching
for an elite herd sire, we are thrilled to have aquired Awesome Alamo. A horn
showcase winner, Alamo has proven himself as a horn producer and a producer
of all around great heifers and young bulls. His breeding is tremendous. His
dam Hatch's Candy Cane has produced some of the best cows in the breed, including
two that sold at public auction for $170,000 and $80,000 each. BL Night Chex
has also made a name for himself, siring several other very nice herd sires.
Alamo's offspring have great horns, tremendous conformation, thick bodies, and
pretty dark colors. He was previously owned by Panther Creek Longhons and Hudson
Longhorns and was most recently the senior herd sire for the outstanding Panther
Creek herd. We plan to use Alamo as our premier sire and are very excited about
him. He is one of the prettiest bulls in the breed! The legend of Hatch's Candy
Cane continues to grow, as her 2009 heifer Awesome Kerry was the high selling
animal at the 2012 Legacy Sale at $48,000! Her production record is amazing,
and Alamo is her most notable son.
Alamo's first calf crop included a heifer that sold for $25,000 at public auction
and currently measures over 80" ttt. We love the calves he gave us. They
have correct, beefy bodies and often have significantly more horn than their
dams. He produced some of the most colorful caves we've raised too. Unfortunately,
we lost this wonderful bull in November of 2014, but we hope to continue using
him through artificial insemination in the future.
